  Native Plants Have Arrived!

 

Native plants are a great way to attract birds, butterflies and pollinators to your yard.  Create a bird feeding habitat with plants as well as feeders.  Here's what we have in stock:

  • Columbine (Aquilegia canadensis):  (pictured above left) an early-blooming hummingbird plant
  • Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea):  (pictured above right):  attracts butterflies and goldfinches

 

 
Chelone_Turtlehead

 

 

 

White Turtlehead (Chelone glabra):   flower looks like a turtle's head.  Nectar attracts butterflies.  Also a host plant for the Baltimore Checkerspot caterpillar.

 

 

Cardinal Flower

  

 

Cardinal Flower (Lobelia cardinalis):  scarlet-red flowers provide nectar for hummingbirds

 

Anise Hyssop

 

Anise Hyssop (Agastache foeniculum):  attracts native bees.  Added benefit - the leaves smell like licorice!

 

 

 

 

 

Annual Salvia Black & Blue: although this is an annual, it's a hummingbird magnet!  It's cold-sensitive, so keep it protected until the weather warms a bit.
