  Native Plants Have Arrived!

Native plants are a great way to attract birds, butterflies and pollinators to your yard.  Create a bird feeding habitat with plants as well as feeders.  Here's what we have in stock:

  • Columbine (Aquilegia canadensis):  (pictured above left) an early-blooming hummingbird plant
  • Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea):  (pictured above center):  attracts butterflies and goldfinches
  • Blazing Star (Liatris spicata):  (pictured above right) attracts butterflies and goldfinches

Below are some additional plants we've brought in.  More plants (including Milkweed for Monarch Butterflies) will be arriving as the weather gets warmer.

Anise Hyssop

Anise Hyssop (Agastache foeniculum):  attracts native bees.  Added benefit - the leaves smell like licorice!

Chelone_Turtlehead

White Turtlehead (Chelone glabra):   flower looks like a turtle's head.  Nectar attracts butterflies.  Also a host plant for the Baltimore Checkerspot caterpillar.

Cardinal Flower

Cardinal Flower (Lobelia cardinalis):  scarlet-red flowers provide nectar for hummingbirds

Bee Balm

Bee Balm (Monarda didyma):  provides nectar for hummingbirds, butterflies and bees
