Claire C. snapped this great picture of a Brown Booby. Claire recalled that she spotted this bird "while I was walking on the beach of Petite Martinique, the smallest island of Grenada, this past March. The object of his longing? The mesmerizingly beautiful turquoise waters of the Caribbean."

Essay contributed by Joan S. of Lincroft, NJ:

"Last summer, I was on my patio with my noisy group of mini poodles. It was a warm, lovely evening, the kind of evening that you don't want to end, and we were enjoying it. A robin was nesting in a nearby tree, she had three babies that I had spied earlier in the week. The evening grew darker and the poodles and I continued to play. Suddenly, the mother robin hopped onto my deck rail and began to squawk loudly, at me???  At first, I thought this was my imagination. She made such a racket, that the poodles and I stopped what we were doing and looked at her. She promptly hopped back to her nest. We began playing again, the poodles barking at me to throw the ball to them. Immediately, as if on cue, the robin went back to the deck rail and began squawking loudly, looking directly at me. I had to laugh! There was no doubt that she was telling me to be quiet. After all, I am a mom and I realized she was trying to get her babies to sleep. I put the poodles in the house, and she went back to her nest. All was quiet again on that lovely summer evening."
